While home, he reconnects with a former school acquaintance, Adrian Lamperton. The two had misunderstandings in their younger years, but now seem to be friends. When Leonard learns that he has inherited a family estate, he hires Adrian to help him restore it. The two soon move from friends to lovers. Can these two lonely men find long-term love? • 4.0 out of 5 stars from JDenise -- Renovations: Life, Home & Family! : This is a slow-burner romance between mature Entrepreneur Leonard “Lenny” Day and easygoing Builder Adrian “Ade” Lamperton. The story starts a bit slow but builds into a low-key yet intriguing tale with depth, well-developed MCs, a multi-faceted premise, and a few emotional surprises. I also enjoyed the renovations detailed and the scenic description of the countryside. Although, I did find the number of co-characters and bit players a bit daunting. Overall, good storytelling and an enjoyable, but emotional read. Brian Lancaster is one of my favorite authors. I just wish he would write faster. More books, please! They both need a fresh, meaningful start at midpoint, and they both deserve what the other offers. The mystery weaves throughout, a masterful tease of breadcrumbs. His mother needs him to come home and take care of everything. Running his own successful business he knows he can leave his people in charge and not worry about much. He is his own man and runs his business they way he wants and he has full confidence in his people. He lost his partner Kris ten years ago to an illness and had not had a partner since.
